101 Things in 1001 Days ~ Challenge

101 Things in 1001 Days ~ Challenge

I am sure most of you have heard of a bucket list, or may even keep a list of things that you’d like to accomplish, experience, or see before you die. Most of us all have that mental checklist of things we walk around with just waiting for life to present us with the opportunity to finally check one off.

These past couple of years I have had a lot of big life changes, I quit my job, sold the ‘family’ house, moved to another state, and even started a business, among other things. With all this change happening I got to thinking about my bucket list and the things I still have not gotten to…yet. I realized that I can make a lot of these things happen, I don’t need to be waiting around for the perfect opportunity that may never even get here!

After writing down a few of the main things that I could recall from my mental bucket list, I came to the idea of actually creating a list of things and putting a finish date on it, not just the before I die finish date of a bucket list. With 101 different things written down varying from activities, traveling, home/organization, and even personal growth goals, I thought a fitting time line would be 1001 days or 2.75 years.

I just put the finishing touches on my list and suppose I ‘officially’ started my list on October 1, 2017, thus my end date will be June 28, 2020. I am already in full force working to better myself and my life by checking items off! In fact, as you can see below one of my checklist items is to inspire someone else to start their own 101 things in 1001 days list and that’s what this blog post is all about. I am also hopping that my list will add a glimpse into my life beyond this blog and Knit One Too. I look forward to updating you each month with my progress!

If you get inspired after reading this blog and you’d like to make your own list, feel free to borrow any ideas below that sound interesting or you get stuck at 88 things and need some creativeness search the Internet for more fun ideas. Lots of bloggers have done similar lists and there are some great ideas out there!

Here are some Tips that I’ve used in creating my list:

1.Choose things you love, not things you think you're supposed to love.

2.Choose things you have control over.

I see "fall in love" on so many lists, and I think those people do themselves a disservice. Falling in love happens; you can't make it happen. Be sure you can make everything on your list happen.

3.Don't choose things that belong on a to-do list.

(That’s what a daily “ to do” list is for- this list is about things you want to change or experience, think bucket list items!)

4.Don't choose things that will already happen.

5.Be realistic, not idealistic.

What are your goals? If you create a 101 in 1001 list I would love for you to share the link with me below in the comments!
